The Proud Rose And The Cactus

The Proud Rose And The Cactus

Once upon a time, in a beautiful desert garden, there grew a proud rose. The rose was very beautiful and its petals were a deep red color. It loved to show off its beauty to all the other plants. Next to the rose grew a cactus. The cactus was not as pretty as the rose. It had sharp thorns all over its body and looked tough.

Moral story for kids

Every day, the rose would make fun of the cactus. “Look at you, all covered in thorns! You are so ugly,” the rose would say. The cactus felt sad but did not say anything back. It knew that it was different but still important in its own way.

As time passed, summer arrived. The sun became very hot, and there was no rain for many days. The plants in the garden started to dry up. The rose was thirsty and could not find any water. Its petals began to wilt and lose their color. The rose was very worried.

The cactus, however, stayed strong. It had stored water inside its thick, thorny body. The rose looked at the cactus and felt ashamed for making fun of it. It realized that the cactus was actually very special. The cactus could survive in the desert because it was built to store water.

One day, a small bird flew by. It was also very thirsty and looking for water. The cactus saw the bird and offered it some of its stored water. The bird drank gratefully. Then, the cactus noticed the rose wilting and offered it some water as well.

The cactus smiled and replied, “We are all different, and that makes us special. We should appreciate each other’s strengths and help one another.”

From that day on, the rose and the cactus became good friends. The rose never made fun of the cactus again, and they both lived happily in the desert garden.

Moral of the story: We should not judge others by how they look. Everyone has their own strengths and special qualities. It is important to appreciate and help each other.
