Crows In The Kingdom
One afternoon, King Akbar was taking a walk in his beautiful garden, enjoying the cool breeze. As he strolled along the garden paths, he gazed up at the clear blue sky and noticed a flock of crows flying in the distance. This made him curious, so he called his wise minister, Birbal. Akbar asked, “Birbal, do you know how many crows are there in our kingdom?”
Birbal, known for his quick wit and sharp mind, paused for a moment. He looked up at the sky, thought for just a few seconds. Then with a confident smile, said, “Your Majesty, there are exactly 1,256 crows in our kingdom.”
King Akbar was taken aback by how quickly Birbal answered. He was puzzled by how his minister could come up with such an exact number. Curious to test Birbal further, Akbar asked, “But Birbal, what if there are more crows than the number you mentioned?”
Birbal grinned and said, “Then, Your Majesty, it means that crows from the neighboring kingdom have come to visit us.”
Still curious, Akbar asked, “And what if there are fewer crows than you said?”
Once again, Birbal had the perfect answer ready. He said, “Well, in that case, it means that the crows from our kingdom have gone on vacation to other kingdoms.”
Hearing Birbal’s clever and amusing responses, King Akbar couldn’t help but laugh out loud. He was truly impressed by how Birbal had managed to answer his question so wisely, yet with such humor. The king realized once again why Birbal was his most trusted and clever advisor. Akbar praised Birbal, saying, “You never fail to amaze me with your quick wit and wisdom.”
